After a great week with my host family, fantastic trips around Provence & interesting but testing classes with Helen I thought my French had improved slightly.  What a surprise when some Parisians said: “Oh you speak French?” 

 I attended a 10 day French immersion with Devy in 2013 at Draguignan – the homestay families were fantastic, our group was friendly and class sizes were kept small. After our morning lessons every day we did lots of activities where we could practise our French on the locals, such as going to the markets, an old Abbey, a restaurant and even art and cooking classes.

On the weekends our homestay families took us exploring without the teachers so we had even more practice! Highlights of the area we visited included the food (of course), a wine-tasting, Les Arcs, Gorges du Verdun and St Tropez. Although we were very tired each day, it was a great experience and highly recommended to anyone serious about improving their French language skills.

I really loved exploring the countryside of Provence, especially visiting the little towns of Gordon and St Paul de Vence. It truly is a beautiful place to visit. Thanks!!!

The whole experience was fantastic and I can hardly wait to take Greg back to see the area and visit the friends we made on the course.

The chance to spend almost two weeks with a French family (so much like mine, it was scary!) was priceless. Their patience, lack of criticism was amazing. The Var is a great area to discover in detail.

I’m sure a lot of thought went into matching us with the ideal French hosts. My hosts were great! I felt at home, welcomed, well cared for and well supported.  Thanks for the chance to do it.
